Romans 12:1-2

So here's what I want you to do, God helping you: Take your everyday, ordinary life—your sleeping, eating, going-to-work, and walking-around life—and place it before God as an offering. Embracing what God does for you is the best thing you can do for him. Don't become so well-adjusted to your culture that you fit into it without even thinking. Instead, fix your attention on God. You'll be changed from the inside out. Readily recognize what he wants from you, and quickly respond to it. Unlike the culture around you, always dragging you down to its level of immaturity, God brings the best out of you, develops well-formed maturity in you. Romans 12:1-2

Exactly What I Needed

Our lives have been "off" lately.  By off, I mean we have been adjusting.  Adjusting to Aunt having leukemia - hospital stays and other needs plus our own emotions.  Adjusting to me working again full time.  The actual act isn't that big of an adjustment.  I've done it before and the boys are semi-self-sufficient, so that part's good.  The adjustment comes from my timing - new standards, new evaluation system, new programs and my new emotions as I deal with all these new things.

We've managed.  Hubby has been amazingly supportive and God has carried us.  A while back I walked up to my sink and glanced up and saw this:

Very simple. Exactly what I needed.  I'm very thankful to Dayspring for providing this Day Brightener for me.  I love Peanuts and this perpetual calendar and the family organizing calendar have been wonderful additions to my kitchen.

If you look closely, you can tell I need to add more of our family info. to our calendar for it to actually work the best (but I think I'm in denial).  However, the point I want to make here is: shortly after I hung it on the fridge (magnetic strip with a pocket - the best kind of calendar ever!), my 8th grade son, wrote on his spaces when he had papers due at school. On. His. Own.  That's what I call effective!

There's some kind of disclaimer that I'm supposed to include, but honestly, I can't find it and the last three reviews I checked didn't have it (I thought it would be soooo easy just to copy!).  It seems too stressful for me to find the exact wording, but the jest is that I received these products free from Dayspring in return for my honest review.  My opinions are true and entirely my own.

If you need smiles in your day, a little organization or are looking for great Christmas gifts, check out the Peanuts calendar at Dayspring.  Look for other things too.  They always have GREAT deals!

Great Gift for A Friend or Yourself!

Delight yourself in the Lord and He will give you the desires of your heart.
Psalm 37:4

Hubby used that verse in his proposal over seventeen years ago, so when I saw it on Dayspring's inspired deals, I was immediately drawn to it.

DaySpring has a special Tote sale going on right now—they are Buy 2 Get 1 Free! This includes both regular price and clearance totes. You can go to this section on DaySpring.com for a great selection and a great deal!  I was so excited that totes were the inspired deal for June - you see, some girls love shoes or purses, but I love totes!

I didn't quite know what "oil cloth" meant, but after receiving it, I figured out it means that it feels smooth - did you follow the link and see the fun detail on the handle and even inside?  There is a zippered pocket, cell phone pocket and a couple of other small ones.  The website says "With a classy look and an inspirational message, this tote bag is ideal for carrying extra items when shopping, traveling or going to work!"  I definitely thought my tote was classy and it came just in time for me to use as my carry on for vacation!

Hubby has been so patient to put up with all my totes over the years - when he cleans the closet, he knows not to even consider getting rid of any!

I've even discovered a great use for totes - gift wrap - gift wrap that makes an extra gift!  I got this one - for Aunt's birthday

I learned "jute tote" means burlap look and feel.  Aren't the colors great?  They said "Summer!" All the messages on the Dayspring totes are great reminders of God's word and our hope in Him. You'll love these!

Disclosure: I received two totes free from Dayspring in return for my blog review. All opinions are completely mine and true.

Ever Grateful to Stop and Give Thanks and a Giveaway

When our boys were little and November rolled around, I would cut out paper leaves in red, yellow, orange and brown. At dinner we would draw or write on the leaves the things for which we were thankful. The boys got older, we got busier, and I stopped making leaves. This summer as I was reading 1000 Gifts, I issued a challenge to the boys (it had to be in the form of a challenge, right? – They’re boys after all!) to start their own gratitude journals.

As our weather turned crisper, I started thinking about those paper leaves and a new challenge was issued: write more in those journals and we will share them on Mondays at dinner. Hubby joined in and is keeping his list on his phone. The boys have even started a game where one person names a number and someone else reads that number from their journal.
Last Monday, we gathered at a deli and shared our lists. I’m so grateful that our boys enjoy showing thanks! This Monday, we will gather at our table decorated with our Ever Grateful Reversible Table Runner from Dayspring.
I was so excited to open this when the Dayspring box came to my doorstep! The workmanship is wonderful and I love the colors! There’s a hint of color, but it is very neutral and won’t clash with other décor or tableware. One of the best parts is the message, “Let there be thankfulness to God”.
I love the warmth and inspiration it brings to our table. The runner is 72” long and 14” wide and coordinates with other items in the Ever Grateful line. It’s on sale this month and you can find it at the Dayspring Online Store.

Did you find other wonderful things when you looked? Thanks to the wonderful people at Dayspring, I am giving away a $20 coupon code to the
Dayspring Online Store. This will be very simple to enter – visit the online store and leave me a comment telling me your favorite Dayspring item – that’s it.

If your profile page does not show your email address, please include your email address in your comment. I will use random.org to select a winner and will then notify you via email. (Contest will remain open through November 10.)
