Romans 12:1-2

So here's what I want you to do, God helping you: Take your everyday, ordinary life—your sleeping, eating, going-to-work, and walking-around life—and place it before God as an offering. Embracing what God does for you is the best thing you can do for him. Don't become so well-adjusted to your culture that you fit into it without even thinking. Instead, fix your attention on God. You'll be changed from the inside out. Readily recognize what he wants from you, and quickly respond to it. Unlike the culture around you, always dragging you down to its level of immaturity, God brings the best out of you, develops well-formed maturity in you. Romans 12:1-2

Counting My Blessings - Day Seven

38. Light - Hubby is always reminding me to turn off lights. I really do want to be financially responsible, but I love light! During the day, I love all the natural light and at night I either want lamps on or all the bright lights on in every room of the house, depending on the mood I'm in.

This picture isn't the best one displaying light, but it meant something to me this morning because as I sat down in my rocker this was what was streaming through our front east window.

It was especially bright and glowing this morning. When I was reading, the pages of Isaiah were illuminated brightly. (The following wasn't what I was reading, but I found it to be beautiful when I checked Biblegateway.com)

Isaiah 42:16
"I will lead the blind by ways they have not known, along unfamiliar paths I will guide them; I will turn the darkness into light before them and make the rough places smooth. These are the things I will do; I will not forsake them."
How even more precious is the light of Christ than the earthly light I love!

  1. I love light and sunshine. The day is brighter and happier when the house is open and the sunbeams shine.

  5. Beautiful. As a side note I noticed we have the same front door with the same molding above it etc.. I'm facing the front door from a distant room right now. I love natural light also. It's beautiful. I love to open the blinds and have the light shine in. It feels so healthy to me even if that sounds silly.
