Romans 12:1-2

So here's what I want you to do, God helping you: Take your everyday, ordinary life—your sleeping, eating, going-to-work, and walking-around life—and place it before God as an offering. Embracing what God does for you is the best thing you can do for him. Don't become so well-adjusted to your culture that you fit into it without even thinking. Instead, fix your attention on God. You'll be changed from the inside out. Readily recognize what he wants from you, and quickly respond to it. Unlike the culture around you, always dragging you down to its level of immaturity, God brings the best out of you, develops well-formed maturity in you. Romans 12:1-2

On The Home Front

I had wanted to post a picture of our first canteloupe, but thought doing a post about a canteloupe would be kinda silly. So, now I'm grouping it with a few other things (so maybe it's only partly silly?). This is the first canteloupe from our garden...

In almost 15 (next week) years of marriage, this is the first year we have gardened. Haven't been hugely successful, but we've learned a lot! This was absolutely the most beautiful and most ripe canteloupe I had ever seen and it was delicious! I picked one today and I'm hoping the other two survive - but otherwise the garden is crawling with thousands of seed shaped bugs. Sigh.......

When hubby went on his home improvement frenzy, he hung things in L's room. L has an affinity for Cowboys and Indians (mostly Cowboys). You know, when I was little I played Cowboys and Indians with my cousins. Since I was the littliest I got handcuffed and left by the tree. If they used handcuffs, shouldn't we have been playing cops and robbers? (That was just an aside.)

Also, on the home front, this is a picture before M's first football practice. I refrained from taking pictures at practice. We are getting ready to head full force into 4 nights a week football and 2 nights soccer (L) - games on the weekend.

Today on the homefront - dish network install. We got rid of expanded cable after the Super Bowl and well, now it's close to preseason, so we had to do something! The intaller has been here going on three and half hours. Hubby just walked in to the office (where J has been trapped the whole time) and said "Yes, he's still here."
