Romans 12:1-2

So here's what I want you to do, God helping you: Take your everyday, ordinary life—your sleeping, eating, going-to-work, and walking-around life—and place it before God as an offering. Embracing what God does for you is the best thing you can do for him. Don't become so well-adjusted to your culture that you fit into it without even thinking. Instead, fix your attention on God. You'll be changed from the inside out. Readily recognize what he wants from you, and quickly respond to it. Unlike the culture around you, always dragging you down to its level of immaturity, God brings the best out of you, develops well-formed maturity in you. Romans 12:1-2

Counting My Blessings - Day 10

41. Clothes – seems simple, something children would always name in a list of what they are thankful for. But really I am thankful for them. Even when I have mounds and mounds of laundry to do, I’m still thankful. Even though we’re not extravagant in the clothing area and I try to give away lots, we still have beyond what is a necessity. Thank you God, for blessing us with clothes to wear.

Matthew 6: 28-29; 33-34 "And why do you worry about clothes? See how the lilies of the field grow. They do not labor or spin. Yet I tell you that not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of these….But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own."

  1. Yes, I agree with you isn't it amazing how much we do have? I tell my daughter stories of my growing up years and try to compare giving her a picture of how more I have now than back then....and love the verse you chose for this.
    Blessings,

  2. I'm even more thankful for Annie and Ella's hand me downs now that Owen doesn't get any. I'm so thankful to have only one child to buy for and we get 95% of his clothes at the thrift store.

  3. I am right there with you! I think we only had to buy 1 season of clothes for 1 child. That was M's first fall. ALl the other seasons were given to us as hand-me-downs from family and generous friends. I am so thankful for clothes and their warmth or breathability depending on the season.

  4. Annette!! How weird that you posted that scripture today: "Therefore do not worry about tomorrow..." It's been in my head for several days, and I even put it on my FB profile tonight. I'm enjoying reading your list of blessings.
